We Are Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Asheville Residents Directory is privately operated. We cannot retrieve files, issue certified copies, verify who lives at an address, or alter an agency roll or database. Direct those requests to the custodian. For emergencies, call 911. If someone is stalking or harassing you, contact local law enforcement.
Find the Right Asheville Record Office
Use the route that matches the record rather than sending a broad request to the wrong agency:
- Street, parcel, or recorded-owner research: use the Asheville street directory and the applicable Buncombe property office
- Historic directories and past households: begin with the Asheville city directory collections
- A specific name and source verification: use the Asheville resident lookup route
- Office roles and public-record access: consult the Asheville records offices summary
- Existing city or county records that are not online: make a focused request under the North Carolina Public Records Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. Chapter 132, to the relevant custodian
